Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation Shade Sun Beige Review

M

Hey everyone! Today I’m reviewing the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation in the new pouch format, shade 310 Sun Beige. I scoured through tons of customer reviews to give you the full scoop on this popular drugstore foundation. Let’s dive in!

Packaging

First up, let’s talk about the unique packaging. This foundation now comes in a squeeze pouch instead of a traditional glass bottle. Some people are totally loving it, saying it’s more eco-friendly with less plastic waste. Plus it allows you to easily get out every last drop of product. No more struggling to scrape foundation out of a bottle!

However, others aren’t sold on the pouch. A few people mentioned being worried about it getting punctured and making a huge mess. Probably not the best for throwing in your makeup bag! But overall, if you’re looking to be a bit more green with your beauty routine, this minimal packaging might be right up your alley.

Shade Range

Okay, onto shade selection. Maybelline offers a whopping 40 shades of this foundation, so props to them for the inclusivity! The shade I’m reviewing is 310 Sun Beige. Choosing foundation online is always a gamble, but most people said this shade was pretty true to color based on pics. A few even used Maybelline’s shade finder tool with good results.

Of course, undertones are so personal and hard to nail. Some felt Sun Beige was a perfect match, while others thought it ran a smidge dark or weren’t thrilled with the undertone. You win some, you lose some! But with 40 options, there’s bound to be a good match for ya.

Formula & Application

Now the important part – how does this stuff actually perform? Maybelline says this foundation is ideal for normal to oily skin. It has a matte, poreless finish (hence the name) and contains clay to help control oil.

In terms of consistency, reviews are mixed. Some call it lightweight and easy to blend, while others found it thick. A few even said it was quite runny and hard to work with. I guess it just depends on your preference! Most agree that a little goes a long way – this foundation is definitely full coverage. You can build it up for a serious glam look or keep it sheer for everyday wear.

As far as application goes, sounds like a damp beauty sponge is the way to go. Lots of people had luck with this method. It can cling to dry patches though, so moisturized skin is key! A hydrating primer underneath might help too.

Wear & Longevity

So how does this foundation hold up throughout the day? Oil control seems to be where this one shines! Many reviewers with oily or combo skin raved about the matte finish. It kept them shine-free for hours, even in heat and humidity. Sounds like a winner for summer!

Longevity-wise, some people got a good 8+ hours of wear, which is awesome for a drugstore foundation. A few mentioned needing to touch up midday, but that’s pretty standard. Setting spray and powder help lock everything in place.

However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Some reviewers complained about the foundation oxidizing and turning dark/orange. The horror! It also has a tendency to settle into pores and fine lines, especially as the day goes on. Bummer.

A heads up for my sensitive skin gals – a couple people mentioned breakouts after using this. Obviously everyone’s skin is different, but it’s something to keep in mind. Patch test first!

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation seems to be a solid choice for oily skin babes on a budget. The squeeze pouch has its pros and cons, but you can’t argue with the bang for your buck! You get a generous amount of product and the coverage is no joke.

Shade-wise, it might take some trial and error, but that’s foundation for ya. With a little finessing, you can achieve a gorge matte look that lasts. Just be mindful of the potential oxidizing and settling.

At the end of the day, foundation is YMMV. What works for one person might be a total flop for someone else. But if you’re a fan of the OG Fit Me foundation and want to try something new, give this pouch a go! Worst case scenario, you’re out a few bucks. Best case, you find your new holy grail.

And that’s the tea! Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried this foundation and what you think. Happy makeup-ing!
