Okay, I’ll admit – when I first saw this foundation came in a squeeze pouch, I was kind of skeptical. It looks like a ketchup packet or a baby food pouch! 👶🍝 But you know what? After using it, I’m totally sold on the packaging!
It’s actually GENIUS. You can squeeze out exactly how much you need without any waste. No more digging in a glass bottle with a pump that gets stuck or never reaches the bottom. This pouch lets you use every. last. drop. 💧
Plus, it’s perfect for travel! I throw it in my carry-on and never worry about it shattering and getting foundation all over my clothes. 🧳👚 The plastic is sturdy enough that it won’t burst open but flexible enough to really get in there as you start running low. 10/10 for packaging! 📦💯
Shade Range 🎨
Let me just say, Maybelline killed it with the shade range on this one! 🙌 There are a whopping FORTY shades. You rarely see that extensive of a range in drugstore foundations.
I’m super pale and usually have trouble finding a good match, but their shade 110 Porcelain is PERFECT for me. Not too pink, not too yellow – just right! 👌 And they go deep with the shade range too. Major props for inclusivity! 👏👏
On the flip side, some reviewers said the shades oxidize throughout the day. 😫 I haven’t had that issue, but I always set my foundation with powder which might help. Something to keep in mind! Definitely hold onto your receipt in case you need to exchange for a different shade.
Application 🖌️
This foundation is a DREAM to apply. It blends out effortlessly with a brush, sponge, or fingers. I usually use a damp beauty sponge and it sheers it out beautifully for a natural finish.
One pump is plenty for my whole face. A little goes a long way! Although I will say, I have noticed it can look a bit cakey/heavy if I use too much. 🍰😬 Less is definitely more with this one.
The consistency is on the thicker side but doesn’t feel suffocating on the skin. It’s creamy without being greasy. I’d say the coverage is a solid medium. It covers redness and evens out my skin tone really well, but I do still need concealer on big breakouts or dark circles.
Formula 🧪
Now let’s talk about the STAR of the show – that matte finish! 🌟 My oily skin has finally met its match. This foundation controls shine like no other! I can go a full workday without needing to blot or touch up. 🙌 It’s a miracle!
If you have dry skin, I could see this clinging to patches or emphasizing texture. Make sure you’re REAL good and moisturized before applying! Even though I’m oily, I still always prep with a hydrating primer. The Fit Me foundation sits SO much better on top of a smooth, plump canvas. 💦✨
One thing to note: this foundation does have a scent. 👃 It’s not super strong or offensive (kind of a generic makeup smell) but if you’re sensitive to fragrance, heads up! Luckily it fades away pretty quickly after applying.
Wear 😊
Okay, so how does this hold up throughout the day? In a word: INCREDIBLE. I’ve put this through the wringer and it honestly lasts even better than some of my high-end foundations!
I recently wore it to an outdoor summer wedding…in FLORIDA. 🥵☀️ Talk about a challenge! But this foundation did. not. budge. I sweat (a lot), I cried during the ceremony, I danced my booty off at the reception. Through it all, this foundation stayed PUT.
No separating, no transferring, no melting off my face. I didn’t even have to set it with powder! This stuff is seriously budge-proof. I’m IMPRESSED. 😮👏
Now, is it transfer-proof enough to leave your face on your man’s collar? 💋👔 No, but let’s be real – NO foundation is THAT good. 😂 By the end of a 12+ hour day, I did notice a bit of fading on my nose and chin. But overall, it held up AMAZING. Especially for such an affordable foundation!
